Sobre mí- About me

Me llamo Marta Barragán y desde el día en el que cogí un lápiz, no lo volví a soltar. Crecí dibujando y admirando los dibujos de ilustradores y artistas que tenía alrededor, y mi ilusión era que en un futuro, serían mis ilustraciones las que formarían parte de la vida de otras personas.

Trabajo con anatomía y figuras geométricas, combinando a veces infinidad de elementos para crear entornos surrealistas que representan estados de ánimo y el carácter de las figuras que se representan. Me muevo por lo analógico,siendo el grabado el recurso que más utilizo para construir mi propio lenguaje.

My name is Marta Barragán, and since the very first day I started using a pencil, i never stoped. I grew up staring and admiring drawings and illustrations of the artists who surrounded my childhood and dreaming about how, one day, would be my own illustrations the ones which someone would stare at and take part of someone else´s life.

I work with anatomy and geometrical figures, sometimes combining a lot of elements to create surrealistic backgrounds which represent moods and characters of the figures I draw. I usually get along with analogic ways, thats why printmaking and etching are the sources I prefer to build my own visual language.
